Earthy, tactile, and rich with history, this large Tamegroute salad / fruit bowl is an artisan masterpiece. Hand-thrown on a traditional potter's wheel in southern Morocco, it uses natural clay sourced directly from the River Draa bed. After drying under the North African sun for five days, it is fire-glazed in one of the village's seven ancient kilns. The striking ochre finish is created using a closely guarded, ancestral formula. Because the placement in the fire uniquely transforms every piece, your bowl will carry its own distinct markings, story, and soul.

The beauty of this pottery lies in its irregularity. Variations in colour, glaze movement, surface texture, firing marks, small imperfections and the characteristic 3 kiln marks are all part of the traditional making process. These details are not flaws, but an essential part of the piece’s authenticity and hand-finished character.

Please note: Tamegroute pottery is defined by its beautifully imperfect, handcrafted finish. Variations in colour, surface markings, glaze drips and firing marks are inherent to the traditional making process and are part of the unique character and authenticity of each piece.

I was looking for something substantial which looked good with or without flowers.
The vase is quite heavy and great quality. Happy with my purchase.
