Carved Round Shield on Stand

The Cameroon Shield is a masterclass in graphic contrast. Moving beyond its history as an element of tribal weaponry, this hand-carved artifact is reimagined as a striking sculptural anchor for contemporary interiors.

The dizzying, hand incised geometric patterns originally designed to disorient opponents deliver a high contrast "op-art" effect using blackened wood and chalky white kaolin clay. Elevated on a bespoke matte black steel / wood gallery stand, its elongated mandorla silhouette introduces immediate height and tactile texture to minimal or monochromatic spaces. Because each piece is entirely handmade, no two shields carry the exact same geometric rhythm.
