Matki Vase

£49.00 Regular price £75.00

Crafted from riveted iron in Punjab, these traditional vessels have long been an essential part of daily life across Asia and beyond. In India, they are commonly known as matki—family water pots passed down through generations.

For centuries, they have been used to collect water from rivers and village wells, serving as both practical tools and cultural symbols. Perhaps their most iconic image is that of women, and sometimes children, gracefully balancing the pots on their heads as they walk, chatting with friends and neighbours on their way home.

As these are at least vintage in age , we cannot guarantee if they can still hold water.
